Advice onUsing our audio/visual equipment
Our sound system is of great quality. However, if you are looking for a nightclub-style thump or super-loud music, you should not use our system. Consider a deejay or band instead.
Bluetooth devices connect to our sound system and projector. Certain corded devices may be connected as well but it is not recommended. It is smart to download your music onto TWO devices in case one fails or will not connect via bluetooth. Please use the newest devices you can - we provide the latest bluetooth technology and it may or may not work with older devices. We are not responsible for the connectivity of your device to our system - we provide the system - you are in charge of the music connected to it.
The projector can be connected via bluetooth or USB. If it is connected via bluetooth, you will need to download software to connect.
Do not plan to depend the internet - it may not work because the internet service is so unreliable and you don't want to have to worry about that during your event. It is also not recommended to use a music service like Spotify that obtains music from various sources because the volume and sound quality will vary greatly. All media and presentations should be downloaded onto the device itself.
Always bring a charger or extra battery. Playing music or video drains a battery quickly.
Choose someone in your group to operate your device and let us know who that will be so that we can meet and make sure the device connects to the bluetooth, check volumes, etc. This person and the device should be available well in advance and the bluetooth connection/volume/etc should be tested prior to the day of the event in case of connectivity issues.
For wedding ceremonies/receptions, a separate playlist should be arranged for each time your music should be changed. It makes it much easier for the A/V operator. Do not plan to have the volume raised and lowered (only music started and stopped) in order to not complicate the playlist and confuse/delay your A/V operator. The less chance for mistakes at your event, the better. Using the music as a cue for the next activity helps keep the event flowing nicely. These are suggested instructions to help make it easier to put your playlist together but there is no science to it.
1. Pre Ceremony - This music is for when the guests are arriving. About 30-45 minutes of songs
2. Processional - Music for walking down the aisle. Stop the first song after wedding party is in place then start the second song for when the bride goes down the aisle. Or just play one song when everyone enters.
3. Recessional – Press play at the end of the ceremony. The first song is the recessional and remainder of the playlist is 30 minutes of background music
4. Cocktail Hour/Reception 1 – Background music to be played in reception area until toasts. Music stopped during toasts
5. First Dance/Reception 2 - First song is the couples’ first dance. Then mother/son/father/daughter dances and any others. After the dances, allow the play list to continue to play until it is time to cut the cake.
6. Cake Cutting/Reception 3 - Song to be played during the cake cutting.
7. Bouquet Toss/other activity/Reception 4 - Can play until the end of the evening. Time the music to end at the time the event is supposed to end.
